How do I initiate rescreening?
Companies and their hiring teams can choose to generate a list of random employees at any time for the purposes of rescreening. Depending on each business’ policies and needs, hiring teams may choose to initiate random rescreening from company-wide lists and/or on an as-needed, individual employee basis.
When should I rescreen?
Businesses can also choose to screen employees around milestone dates, such as at the end of the initial probationary period, the 6-month mark, or during annual reviews. Some clients choose to conduct rescreens when either an employee’s promotion or departmental transfer is being considered.
Reasons for rescreening:
Rescreening can take several different forms depending on an employee’s position in the company. One of the most common rescreens is based on motor vehicle record (MVR) requests: employees that are drivers or otherwise have access to company machinery can have an adverse impact on insurance rates. Another frequent rescreening practice is utilized by employers in financial arenas, where government entities such as the FDIC require employees with access to sensitive financial information to be regularly screened for credit issues.
